A campaign can get people’s attention. A website can make a strong first impression. But the value comes from how those things work together: helping someone discover your organisation, understand what you offer, and take the next step.
That connection sits at the heart of my consultancy. I bring marketing, digital, and commercial experience together to help organisations grow.
Start with the outcome
Before deciding which channels to use or what technology to invest in, I want to understand what you’re trying to achieve.
You might need more enquiries, stronger ticket sales, a growing membership, or customers who return more often. You might have plenty of activity underway but need a clearer sense of where to focus.
A clear commercial objective gives that work direction. It helps us decide who we need to reach, what needs to improve, and where investment will make the greatest difference. In sport and purpose-led organisations, those decisions also need to support participation, accessibility, and long-term community value.
Connect the whole experience
Marketing helps people find you and gives them a reason to care. It connects your offer with the needs and interests of the people you want to reach.
Digital turns that interest into an experience. Can someone find the information they need? Is it straightforward to buy a ticket, become a member, or make an enquiry? Does the experience build confidence or introduce unnecessary friction?
Commercial thinking connects those decisions to results. It means understanding the value of your offer, the cost of attracting customers, and what encourages people to stay.
Consider a membership organisation. A campaign might bring thousands of people to its website, but growth also depends on whether the benefits are clear, joining is easy, and members feel valued afterwards. Improving any one of those areas helps. Connecting them creates a much stronger foundation.
Experience across the whole picture
My career has given me the opportunity to work across these disciplines and see how closely they depend on each other.
At Table Tennis England, that includes growing membership and audiences, helping deliver sold-out World Championships, and leading a digital transformation. The work connects how people discover the sport with how they buy tickets, join, participate, and remain involved.
At The FA, I helped launch digital products across England teams, the FA Cups and competitions, and grassroots football. At East Midlands Railway, I helped launch digital platforms supporting the customer experience. My automotive experience brought a strong commercial focus, while my work with the NHS showed how marketing, engagement, and insight can contribute to meaningful improvements across a wider health economy.
Those experiences shape the perspective I bring to clients: understanding the whole journey and identifying where better connections can make a difference.
How I can help
My offer brings together three areas of support:
- Strategy and direction: Clarifying your goals, understanding your audiences, and setting priorities across marketing and digital.
- Practical delivery: Helping bring campaigns, websites, digital products, and customer journeys to life.
- Ongoing improvement: Using data, insight, and customer feedback to strengthen performance and focus investment.
The starting point depends on your organisation. You might need a fresh perspective on an existing challenge, support with a specific launch, or experienced leadership to bring several strands of work together.
My role is to connect the ambition with the detail: what you want to achieve, what your customers need, and what your team needs to deliver.
If your marketing, digital, and commercial ambitions need a more joined-up approach, let’s talk.
